This is a look at, a conversation about, the creative process.
Specifically an artist’s process. Everything that an artist brings into their path to keep them “in process” so they can have a sustainable and aware art practice.
I have become inquisitive about the subject of process, practice, and how it comes into play in the act of creating.
My artist husband, Michael Rich, will also join in the conversation since we always have a lovely discourse after seeing exhibits, museums, fairs, and in our travels. Our discussions were so intriguing; this is what brought the idea of The Smart Creative to light.
You can quickly listen above as I chat about it a bit more.
The gist of the opt-in
This time in my content-creating journey, I will adopt the substack model and charge like I am handing you a mini magazine or show. It’s not too much, just $5 a month like you were stepping out and buying a coffee with your magazine. You can discount your coffee fix at $48 annually for your ease and support of what I produce. Thank you!
After some thought, and a lot of thought has gone into all of this, I added the “Founders” option, which I am excited about. That would include the subscription and a 30 min-zoom conversation with me if you wanted to focus on your creative path with someone (me) who could hopefully offer some insight. I used to coach and mentor creatives, and it really was a pleasure, so this is an easy way to provide this, and you’d be a FOUNDER!
I have lots of ideas (probably too many). I have been doing some exciting teaching and workshops and want to share some materials and insights from those on this platform.
You CAN subscribe for free, and after looking at other substack authors on this platform, I determined that it looked like The Smart Creative’s free version will be partial posts with an option to opt-in. That will be like a robust movie trailer that helps you decide whether you want to read, see, hear, and join the conversation.
So if you knew me when (old Smart Creative Women podcast days), this would look and feel different because I have changed, grown, and made strides in my artistic practice. If you are new to Monica Lee Rich, as I wrote in my bio, I am an artist, modern romantic, and accidental thinker.
Welcome to a breathing space for your creative process as well as mine.
