Hello from Italy! Plein air painting on the farm was magical and incredibly restorative. I’ll share thoughts and ideas on how I attempt to enter a “creative flow” quickly and easily when I return. I’m still digesting all the art we’ve seen and asking myself if seeing art influences you even if you don’t find it “speaking” to you. I love art and I enjoy the art of the Renaissance, but there is a lot of repeat subject matter, haha!
I may do another post on travel tips as well, I’ve seem to have accumulated a fair amount over the years. I feel like I am making a science out of it.
Until then, I am posting these shots from the road.
You can’t see it but I am sitting on a tiny little foldable stool we packed in our suitcases to use on the farm that we stayed at for a week of painting and relaxing. The views of Tuscany were amazing!
My set up in the not so wild..on the giant picnic table where Emmy, our host, served us some different wines from a local vineyard that had a family connection (naturally!) You can see the location of the agriturismo on my Instagram, in the highlights marking Italy 2023, HERE.
There was a chapel on the property that I fell in love with! I kept returning to capture all the lush plant life from every angle.
I walked the grounds at that magical hour to find good shots and Tuscany does NOT disappoint!
I’ll share more when I am not posting from my iphone and have reliable wifi, I am sort of surprised that I managed to get this done while standing in line to get into the Duomo in Florence. I apologize if these photos come in really large (I love my new iPhone camera, by the way!) Until next time! Ciao Bella!
What a beautiful place to stir your creativity Monica! Totally understand why you kept returning to the chapel...love it! 💖✨
Wonderful photos and musings! I'd be very interested in hearing about your travel tips, too.
